So, I’m curios. How long does it take you to fall asleep once you hit the bed at night? For as long as I can remember, it has taken me almost an hour before this brain of mine relaxes enough and I to drift into lullaby land. My husband, on the other hand, falls asleep as soon as he hits the pillow. It’s instantaneous. How does it happen? In fact, he saw the title of this post as I was writing and said, “Hmm… the art of sleeping? I can teach you a thing or two about that.”
It’s not that I’m not tired. I just tend to think about all the events of that day and all the things that need to be done the next day. In fact, I make a to-d0 list in my head and try to remember each point. Sometimes, I take reach for my iphone and make notes if there’s something really important. I’ve told myself to allocate time to focus on this ‘getting organized’ phase of my night each day before I get into bed but so far, that hasn’t happened. And if you’re having trouble picturing my nightly routine, watch this. It’s me, exactly!
Which brings me to ask – How long do you take to fall asleep each night?
